Daily Birdie is a golf game, not a data business. You can play without an account. There is no advertising, no analytics SDK and no tracking across apps or websites. Nothing about you is sold or shared with data brokers.
This policy covers the Daily Birdie app for iPhone and this website, dailybirdie.app. Both are operated by Benton Chase Studios (“we”, “us”). Questions go to support@seasoniq.app.

Local play and optional accounts
Guest scores and practice settings are stored on your device. The app also sends completed daily guest rounds (course version and strokes for each hole) with a random installation ID to our player service for course statistics. This is on by default. In Account, you can turn off guest score sharing, which removes that installation’s uploaded guest rounds; your local scores stay on your phone. Guest scores do not appear on the public leaderboard. Sign in with Apple is optional. When you sign in, Apple provides an app-specific account identifier and an email address, which may be an Apple private relay address if you choose Hide My Email. We use these to manage your account.
Signed-in daily rounds are uploaded to our player service, hosted on Vercel with a Neon Postgres database, so your history and stats can be restored on another device. You can choose to include existing guest scores when signing in. When you do, their anonymous copies are moved into your account so each round counts once. Offline results wait on your device and retry when you reconnect. Practice scores are not uploaded. Signing out keeps a separate local cache of that account’s progress.
App activity
When you are signed in, the app sends a limited set of activity events to our player service: app opens, visits to Home, Account, Stats and Leaderboard, sign-in and display-name changes, and daily round starts, resumes, exits, hole completions and finishes, and practice starts, exits and finishes. Daily round events may include the course number, hole number, strokes and par. Events include their time and are linked to your account so we can see how people use the game and find where players leave a round. Only the administrator can see the account-level activity dashboard. Events wait on your device while offline and retry when you reconnect. Guest activity is not sent. We do not use an analytics SDK or track you across other apps or websites.
The daily leaderboard
Your round history is private to your account. After you choose a display name, that name and your daily scores appear publicly on the leaderboard. Your email address is not shown. You can update your display name in Account. The first accepted result for a daily course is used for the leaderboard.
Apple handles Apple Account authentication under the Apple Privacy Policy. The player service stores sign-in sessions and an encrypted Apple refresh token so it can revoke access when you delete your account. We do not receive your Apple Account password.
Downloading courses
Each day’s holes and course artwork are downloaded from GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub receives your IP address and basic request details (such as the time and the file requested) in order to deliver them. These requests contain no information about you or your scores. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Sharing your result
When you tap Share, the app hands a short text summary of your round to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is up to you and the app you choose; we are not involved.
This website
This site has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts and sets no cookies for visitors. It is hosted by Vercel, which processes IP addresses and request logs to serve and secure the site. A single sign-in cookie is used only on the private administration area.
Children
Daily Birdie is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information beyond what is described above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will remove it.
Retention and deletion
Account data is retained while you keep your account. To delete it, open Account in the app, choose Delete account, and verify with Apple. This revokes the stored Apple authorization and removes your profile, cloud round history, app activity, leaderboard entries and sessions. Deleting the app alone does not delete your cloud account. You can remove anonymous guest rounds by turning off guest score sharing in Account; if you are offline, removal retries when you reconnect. Local progress on other devices may remain until you remove it from those devices. For help with deletion or older leaderboard entries, email support@seasoniq.app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, and to object to its processing. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those laws define it. To exercise any of these rights, email us; we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
App network requests use HTTPS. Session credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, and the server encrypts Apple refresh tokens. Our hosting providers process data to operate and secure the service.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
